Position:
FULL-TIME Materials Coordinator in Materials Management
Purpose:
To assist the Manager of Materials in all aspects of the job, which includes the procurement of supplies, services and equipment after reviewing specifications, selecting potential suppliers, securing and analyzing quotes, negotiating price, and delivery. The position is also responsible for physically and electronically receiving, storing, stocking and distributing all supplies, equipment, mail and packages while ensuring inventory levels and minimizing shortages for hospital main campus and all surrounding campuses.
Qualifications:
  1. Associate degree or equivalent preferred.
  2. Two to Four years buyer experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
  3. Knowledge of Louisiana Public Bid Law preferred.
  4. Healthcare inventory control experience preferred.
  5. Strong computer skills, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  6. Detail-oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  7. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  8. Ability to communicate effectively with all vendors and manufacturers.
  9. Able to work independently or as a team member.
Working Conditions:
  1. Employee will be lifting and carrying up to 10% of the day.
  2. Employee will be sitting 50% of the day.
  3. Employee will be standing and walking 20% of the day.
  4. Employee will be twisting, climbing, kneeling, stooping, and bending 10% of the day.
  5. Employee will be reaching at or above shoulder level 10% of the day.
