FULL TIME Licensed Professional Counselor at LOSMC - Cut Off
The purpose of the Licensed Professional Counselor position is to provide standardized counseling/talk therapy for LOSMC patients with mental health conditions and/or substance abuse who are referred by Lady of the Sea providers and outside referral sources. The LPC - Counselor will work to address other social needs of patients and will utilize sources for needed specialty care, hospitalization or advance psychiatric assessments and treatment in accordance with State and Federal Rules & Regulations.
  1. Master's Degree in Counseling or Clinical Psychology or a related field of study.
  2. Licensed by the State of Louisiana as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).
  3. Willingness to work with people regardless of condition(s) which may be difficult to deal with and understanding unique needs/dynamics of the patient population.
  4. Possess skills in triage of mental health conditions.
  5. Maintain current CPR.
  6. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization and with outside referral sources.
  7. Possesses positive customer skills.
Working Conditions:
  1. Employee will be lifting and carrying up to 10 pounds approximately 5% of the day.
  2. Employee will be sitting approximately 50% of the day.
  3. Employee will be standing and walking approximately 30% of the day.
  4. Employee will be twisting, climbing, kneeling, stooping, and bending approximately 10% of the day.
  5. Employee will be reaching at or above shoulder level approximately 5% of the day.
